VTT 2013–2018 Cummins 6.7L Silicone Charge Pipe Kit
High-Flow, Seven-Ply Silicone Charge Pipes for the 6.7L Cummins
VTT is proud to offer an easy-to-install, high-flow charge pipe solution for the 2013–2018 6.7L Cummins platform.
The factory charge pipe system uses multiple connections, restrictive transitions, and irregularly shaped piping. The VTT kit completely replaces that system with two smooth, wire-reinforced, seven-ply silicone charge pipes rated for more than 250 PSI.
Unlike typical aftermarket hard-pipe kits that require numerous clamps and can be extremely difficult to position in the limited available space, the VTT system is molded for a precise fit in the engine bay.
Each VTT pipe uses only two connections instead of the four connections found on each factory pipe. This reduces the number of clamps and cuts the number of potential boost-leak or clamp-failure points in half.
KEY FEATURES
- Seven-ply, heat-resistant silicone construction
- Internal wire reinforcement
- Rated for more than 250 PSI
- Smooth, high-flow transitions
- Main pipe sections increased to 3.5 inches
- Helps reduce turbulence and airflow restrictions
- Reduced heat transfer compared with engine-mounted hard piping
- Only two connections per pipe instead of four
- Fewer clamps and fewer potential boost-leak points
- Direct-fit molded design
- Easier installation than typical multi-piece hard-pipe kits
- Complete hot-side and cold-side charge pipe replacement
HOT-SIDE CHARGE PIPE
The factory hot-side piping uses multiple connections, irregular shapes, and abrupt turns that can create turbulence and transfer additional heat into the charge-air system.
The VTT hot-side pipe begins with a 2.75-inch connection at the turbo outlet and immediately expands to 3.5 inches. It maintains the larger 3.5-inch diameter through the main section before transitioning back to 2.75 inches at the intercooler inlet.
Hot-Side Dimensions
- 2.75-inch turbo-outlet connection
- Expands immediately to 3.5 inches
- Maintains a 3.5-inch main section
- Transitions to 2.75 inches at the intercooler inlet
COLD-SIDE CHARGE PIPE
The factory cold-side pipe has an irregular shape and narrows to approximately 2.5 inches in some areas. This creates a potential airflow restriction immediately before the throttle body.
The VTT cold-side pipe begins with a 2.75-inch connection at the intercooler outlet, expands to 3.5 inches, and maintains a smooth 3.5-inch flow path to the throttle-body connection.
Cold-Side Dimensions
- 2.75-inch intercooler-outlet connection
- Expands immediately to 3.5 inches
- Maintains a smooth 3.5-inch flow path
- Connects directly to the throttle-body inlet
REDUCED HEAT TRANSFER
The VTT silicone charge pipes resist heat and are not mounted directly to the engine outside of their connections at the turbo outlet and throttle-body inlet.
This helps isolate the charge air from additional engine-bay heat and reduces the heat transfer associated with metal piping mounted near the engine.
FEWER CONNECTIONS. FEWER FAILURE POINTS.
The factory system uses four connections on each charge pipe. The VTT system reduces that to only two connections per pipe.
Fewer connections mean:
- Fewer clamps
- Fewer possible boost leaks
- Fewer opportunities for a coupler to separate
- Cleaner installation
- Easier access
- Improved reliability under boost
KIT INCLUDES
- 1 × VTT Hot-Side Silicone Charge Pipe
- 1 × VTT Cold-Side Silicone Charge Pipe
- 4 × VTT T-Bolt Clamps
Everything required to replace the factory hot-side and cold-side charge piping is included.
INSTALLATION
Installation is straightforward and typically takes approximately 1–1.5 hours for someone with limited experience working on their truck.
An experienced installer who has previously removed the factory charge piping may complete the installation in approximately 30–45 minutes.
The molded silicone construction eliminates the struggle associated with positioning rigid, multi-piece aftermarket piping in the limited available space.
