Porsche pushed the RSR connection even further with the 992 GT3's 4.0L flat-six, making it the first road-going 911 engine ever to breathe through six individual throttle bodies, a setup lifted straight from Porsche's endurance racing program. It arrived alongside a double-wishbone front suspension also borrowed from the RSR, and it stayed naturally aspirated, still spinning to that same 9,000 rpm redline. Rather than diluting an already motorsport-derived design for a new generation, Porsche leaned in harder, and it shows in every part of how this engine is built.

Weistec's ECU tune for the 992 GT3 engine is an OEM-level software recalibration, built on top of the factory's own calibration work rather than overriding it. Every one of the factory's protective strategies (knock detection, thermal management, OEM diagnostics) stays fully in place throughout. The payoff on this application is about 20 additional horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque, pulled from hardware Porsche had already tuned to a race-proven standard and taken one genuine step further.
