Product Description
The F136 is one of the great naturally aspirated V8 stories of the last two decades, a family Ferrari and Maserati engineered together starting in the early 2000s and kept refining across a run that spanned 4.2 to 4.7 liters. Ferrari's own versions carried a flat-plane crankshaft pulled straight from the brand's Formula 1 experience, giving them the high-revving, F1-inflected howl Ferrari is famous for, a deliberate contrast to the cross-plane crank in the Maserati and Alfa Romeo versions of the same family, tuned instead for smooth, confident low-end torque. It reached its peak in the final, largest 4.5-liter form built for the 458 Italia: 562 factory horsepower, a redline pushing toward 9,000 rpm, and a trophy case full of International Engine of the Year awards that makes it one of the most decorated naturally aspirated V8s ever built.
An engine this celebrated deserves a calibration that matches its pedigree, and that's exactly what Weistec built for it: a pure software recalibration, engineered to the same validation rigor Ferrari itself used when this V8 left Maranello. It works inside the factory's own knock protection, thermal limits, and OBD diagnostics rather than around them, unlocking real performance the factory left on the table and taking the 4.5L V8 from 570 to 600 horsepower and 398 to 425 lb-ft of torque, a genuinely another-level result for hardware this good.
