The Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for the BMW E39 M5 is engineered to improve airflow efficiency and cold-air delivery to the naturally aspirated S62 5.0-liter V8. Developed to operate with the factory ECU calibration and mass airflow (MAF) sensors, the system replaces the original airboxes with dual carbon fiber Venturi housings and dedicated front-mounted cold-air ducts. Eventuri reports performance gains of 8–12 hp and 8–10 lb-ft of torque.
The factory E39 M5 airboxes use rectangular chambers with airflow transitions into circular MAF tubes. Eventuri's intake replaces these chambers with reverse-mounted high-flow filters enclosed within carbon fiber housings. Each housing incorporates an aluminum inlet cowl and a tapered internal profile designed to provide a more efficient transition from the filter to the factory MAF tube.
A distinguishing feature of the E39 M5 system is its dedicated cold-air delivery architecture. Replacement front fog lamp surrounds incorporate integrated air inlets connected to flexible neoprene ducting, directing ambient air toward the intake assemblies. Laser-cut aluminum shields help separate the filter areas from surrounding engine bay heat.
The system is manufactured using prepreg carbon fiber housings and includes application-specific mounting brackets, silicone couplers, and BMW-specification hose clamps.
