The Eventuri Audi C7 RS6 / RS7 Black Carbon Intake System is engineered to reduce turbocharger inlet restriction while controlling intake air temperatures on the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Replacing the factory airbox assembly, the system incorporates a fully enclosed prepreg carbon fiber airbox, dual Venturi inlet tubes, two high-flow dry air filters, an enlarged carbon intake duct, and a dedicated front air scoop. Eventuri reports dynamometer gains of 15-19 horsepower and 13-17 lb-ft of torque, along with a measured 0.4-second reduction in 60-130 mph acceleration during V-Box testing.
The factory C7 RS6 and RS7 intake system must supply both turbochargers while operating in an engine compartment with substantial thermal exposure. Eventuri developed two independent airflow paths, each consisting of a high-flow double-cone filter and a carbon fiber Venturi tube connected to the corresponding factory turbocharger inlet pipe. This arrangement provides each turbocharger with a dedicated filter and a progressively narrowing intake passage designed to reduce restriction and improve airflow consistency.
Each carbon Venturi tube incorporates a smooth internal transition matched to the filter neck and factory turbocharger connection. The gradual reduction in cross-sectional area is designed to accelerate incoming air while limiting abrupt changes in flow direction and cross-sectional geometry. Eventuri used computational airflow simulations during development to evaluate the velocity distribution and refine the transitions between the filters and turbocharger inlet tubes.
Thermal management is a central part of the C7 intake design. The engine compartment contains several sources of heat surrounding the factory airbox location, including the centrally mounted turbochargers, a heat exchanger positioned beneath the headlamp, and heated air discharged from the radiator area when the cooling fan operates. Rather than relying on exposed filters and localized heat shields, Eventuri encloses both filters within a dedicated carbon fiber airbox designed to separate the intake air supply from these surrounding heat sources.
The carbon airbox enclosure utilizes the available space created by removing the factory airbox and connects directly to a redesigned carbon fiber intake duct. This duct provides greater internal volume than the original component and channels ambient air from the front grille toward the enclosed filters. A dedicated carbon fiber scoop positioned behind the grille incorporates a curved profile to direct incoming air into the duct, supporting the replenishment of cooler outside air as vehicle speed increases.
Additional thermal protection is provided by a laser-cut heat shield with a gold reflective surface. Positioned between the carbon airbox and the turbochargers, the shield helps reduce radiant heat transfer from the upper engine compartment into the intake enclosure. During development, Eventuri also evaluated an exposed dual-filter arrangement and observed increased inlet temperatures, reinforcing the decision to use a fully enclosed carbon airbox.
Eventuri performed same-day back-to-back dynamometer testing with the factory intake and carbon intake system. The vehicle remained on the dynamometer during the intake change, the hood was closed for testing, and intake temperatures were monitored. The manufacturer reports gains of 15-19 horsepower and 13-17 lb-ft of torque, with improvements in engine response attributed to the revised inlet geometry and controlled intake air supply.
Road testing was also conducted using a V-Box data logger to measure acceleration over the same road section. The recorded 60-130 mph time decreased from 9.674 seconds with the factory intake to 9.274 seconds with the Eventuri system, an improvement of 0.400 seconds. The 100-200 km/h acceleration time decreased from 8.420 seconds to 8.078 seconds, an improvement of 0.342 seconds. Both comparisons were conducted on the same day with the intake system as the documented change.
The complete assembly incorporates prepreg black carbon fiber components, CNC-machined airbox mounting hardware, laser-cut stainless steel brackets, and the dedicated thermal shielding required for the application. The result is an integrated intake system developed around the airflow and thermal requirements of the Audi C7 RS6 and RS7 rather than a conventional exposed-filter conversion.
