The Eventuri Audi B8 RS4 / RS5 Black Carbon Intake System is engineered to reduce intake restriction and improve airflow delivery to the 4.2-liter naturally aspirated FSI V8. Replacing the factory airboxes and associated inlet ducting, the system incorporates dual prepreg carbon fiber Venturi housings, reverse-mounted high-flow filters, carbon fiber intake tubes, and dedicated cold-air ducts and front scoops. Eventuri reports independent dynamometer gains of 15-20 horsepower and 12-18 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.
The factory RS4 and RS5 airboxes use relatively small rectangular filter elements followed by abrupt transitions into circular intake tubes. Eventuri replaces this arrangement with two carbon fiber Venturi housings designed to provide a gradual reduction in cross-sectional area between the filters and throttle bodies. The revised geometry promotes a more consistent airflow velocity profile while reducing abrupt directional changes and flow separation within the intake tract.
Each carbon housing surrounds a reverse-mounted, high-flow double-cone filter and incorporates an aluminum inlet cowl to guide incoming air toward the filtration surface. The housing transitions into a dedicated prepreg carbon fiber intake tube, maintaining a smooth internal airflow path toward the factory throttle body. CNC-machined aluminum breather connections are integrated into the carbon tubes to retain the required engine ventilation interfaces.
To supply the intake housings with outside air, Eventuri developed dedicated carbon fiber ducts that interface with the factory front air entry locations. Flexible rubber sealing edges connect the stationary ducts to the engine-mounted Venturi housings, helping isolate the incoming air from engine compartment heat while accommodating normal engine movement. The ducts transition from the original air entry geometry into the circular openings of the carbon filter housings.
Dual prepreg carbon fiber front scoops extend toward the front grille and incorporate a continuous curved profile to redirect incoming ambient air into the intake ducts. This arrangement is designed to improve the supply of outside air to the filters and support intake temperature recovery after periods of stationary heat soak.
Thermal management is further addressed through laser-cut stainless steel heat shields positioned between the intake assemblies and exposed exhaust manifolds. Heat-reflective lining on the shields helps reduce radiant heat exposure to the carbon components. The prepreg carbon construction also provides a lower through-thickness thermal conductivity than conventional aluminum intake tubing, limiting conductive heat transfer into the intake tract.
Independent back-to-back dynamometer testing on a standard Audi B8 RS5 recorded gains of 15-20 horsepower and 12-18 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. Testing was performed on the same day with the hood closed, with intake temperatures monitored and multiple runs completed in both configurations. Additional testing on a B8 RS4 demonstrated gains of approximately 25 horsepower before peak engine speed and 25 lb-ft of torque in the midrange under the manufacturer's documented conditions.
The complete intake incorporates application-specific stainless steel mounting brackets, aluminum inlet cowls, silicone couplers, and associated installation hardware. The carbon housings and intake tubes mount to the engine, while the front ducts remain connected to the factory air entry system. This arrangement allows the intake assemblies to move with the engine without compromising the flexible sealing interface between the housings and cold-air ducts.
For customers completing the engine compartment with matching carbon components, the Eventuri Audi RS4 / RS5 Black Carbon Engine Cover and Eventuri Audi RS5 Carbon Fiber Slam Panel Cover are available separately. These components are not included with the intake system.
