Product Description
The S68 is BMW M's newest twin-turbo V8, and it's a genuine engineering achievement: a 4.4-liter hot-vee design that succeeds the S63TU across the current M5 (G90 Sedan and G99 Touring) and the facelifted X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition. It keeps the hot-vee turbo placement that defined the S63TU generation but rebuilds around it in nearly every way that matters, with a cross-bank exhaust manifold, bank-symmetrical turbochargers, a reinforced crankshaft, external oil cooling, and a new oil pump and sump sized for sustained high-load use. The S68 is also paired with BMW's first-ever M-specific mild-hybrid system in the M5, part of a genuinely forward-looking shift toward electrified assistance rather than simply bolting on bigger turbos to fill in low-end response.
Weistec's S68 calibration is a pure software recalibration of the factory ECU, and it turns an already formidable platform into something else entirely. Every one of BMW's built-in protections stays active exactly as designed. Calibrated with the same rigor and validation process as BMW's own engineers, it takes 625 horsepower and 553 lb-ft and sends it rocketing to 900 horsepower and 860 lb-ft.
