There's something genuinely great about the story behind the Bentayga's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8: it isn't drawn up in Crewe at all, it's a member of Volkswagen Group's EA825 family, engineered and hand-built by Porsche at its Zuffenhausen plant. That's the same architecture that powers the hottest Panameras, Cayennes, and Urus, and Porsche's engineering shows in the details, starting with the turbochargers nested in the vee between the cylinder banks, a hot-vee layout that shortens the path from turbo to intake for sharper, more immediate response. Bentley then made the engine entirely its own, calibrating and mounting it to launch the V8 Bentayga as a sharper, more agile expression of the platform, a role it went on to carry through the Bentayga S. Factory output stands at a strong 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft, real numbers from real engineering collaboration between two of the industry's best.

Weistec's ECU tune takes that factory foundation and pushes it further, entirely through software. Every knock-protection strategy, thermal safeguard, and OEM diagnostic that Porsche and Bentley built into this V8 stays fully intact; the calibration works within those parameters with the same rigor as the factory's own development work, refining ignition, boost, and fueling until the engine gives up everything it has left. The payoff is dramatic: a factory 542 hp and 568 lb-ft becomes 735 hp and 740 lb-ft. That's a genuinely great engine taken to another level entirely.
