The Eventuri Mercedes-Benz W205 C63 / C63S AMG Black Carbon Intake System – V2 is engineered to increase airflow capacity and reduce intake restriction on the M177 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Replacing the factory airboxes with enlarged, fully sealed prepreg carbon fiber assemblies, the system incorporates bespoke high-flow panel filters, revised internal airflow geometry, and carbon fiber front intake ducts. Eventuri reports gains of 10–12 hp on factory-standard vehicles and 22–30 hp on Stage 2 applications under its documented test conditions.
The factory C63 intake system is constrained by the limited space available between the panel filters and turbocharger inlet connections. In certain sections, the original upper airbox provides only 23mm of internal height above the filter. Eventuri increases this clearance to 56mm, creating a substantially larger airflow passage toward the turbochargers. The redesigned airboxes also relocate the MAP sensor mounting positions toward the rear of the upper housings, allowing more of the available internal volume to be used for airflow.
The lower airbox sections are similarly redesigned to improve airflow entry from the factory cold-air supply. Eventuri replaces the restrictive convoluted inlet geometry with a smoother transition, increasing the inlet passage height from approximately 43mm to 74mm. The resulting lower airbox inlet provides approximately 84% greater cross-sectional area than the factory configuration, helping reduce restriction before air reaches the filter elements.
Each airbox incorporates a custom rounded panel filter manufactured with a double-layer, ISO 5011-tested dry filtration medium. The curved filter profile eliminates the sharp corners associated with conventional rectangular panel filters, allowing the carbon housings to maintain a more gradual internal transition. CNC-machined, black-anodized aluminum filter flanges provide accurately controlled sealing surfaces between the filters and carbon airbox assemblies.
Eventuri evaluated the complete intake system using a SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench at a pressure differential of 28 inches H2O. Under controlled testing, the factory airboxes measured an average of 381 CFM per airbox, compared with 531 CFM for the Eventuri system. This represents approximately 39% greater measured maximum airflow capacity. The sealed construction retains the factory cold-air entry locations, helping limit exposure to the elevated temperatures generated by the closely positioned turbochargers and exhaust manifolds.
Performance testing was conducted on both factory-standard and Stage 2 C63S vehicles. Eventuri reports gains of 10–12 hp and 12–15 lb-ft on stock applications, increasing to 22–30 hp and 20–24 lb-ft on Stage 2 vehicles equipped with downpipes and an ECU calibration. Back-to-back dynamometer testing was performed with the hood closed, with the intake system changed while the other vehicle modifications remained consistent. Eventuri also reports independent road-dynamometer testing by CF Dynamics on a Stage 1 vehicle, recording gains of 31 hp and 39 Nm under the documented conditions.
The V2 intake incorporates prepreg carbon fiber front ducts that transition from the original oval-shaped slam-panel openings into the enlarged airbox assemblies. Custom EPDM couplers, CNC-machined MAP sensor bosses, aluminum filter flanges, and laser-cut stainless steel mounting brackets complete the installation hardware. The system is designed to retain the original rubber mounting bushes while providing application-specific mounting interfaces.
This listing is configured for vehicles equipped with factory turbochargers. For applications using larger aftermarket turbochargers, Eventuri offers a separate special-order intake configuration with larger 3-inch outlet connections. Customers requiring the upgraded-turbo version should contact IND Distribution before ordering.
